Caring is the secret weapon

We don’t live in reality. At least not an objective reality. We each live in our own constructed, subjective reality. We see the world through our own experiences, beliefs, values and feelings. Because of this, the only thing that matters at the end of the day is how we think about ourselves.

We all want to feel good about who we are. This will be different for each person. One person might want to feel like a hard worker, another like a team player, another like they are making an impact on the world.

Taking the time to care about how people see themselves can have a huge impact on their commitment levels. People work hard for people who believe in them and help them see themselves in a positive light.

We can’t expect people to perform better by making them feel bad about who they are. When people feel someone sees them in the way they want to be seen – and is helping them realize that each day – they give that person their trust and loyalty.

Care enough to know who people want to see in the mirror at the end of the day.
