There’s a saying that the difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do. And it’s true that our actions make us who we are and the consequences of our decisions affect our lives and who we become.
However, when initiating changes, people often forget to take a look at the other two elements. If you want to ensure you are taking the right actions, you need to closely examine who you currently are and have a clear picture of who you want to become. Only with this knowledge can you make knowledgeable decisions on what you need to do.
Often we get so excited about doing things differently that we don’t take the time to examine where we currently are and how we got there, and clearly define where we want to go. Instead we jump in with both feet and often flounder.
Don’t get too eager to take action that you forget about the reasons you are doing it in the first place.
