We’ve tried to scrub humanity from our workplaces; clean them of emotion with the disinfectant of logic. But it has been a useless effort.
By trying to ignore our humanity, we’ve just made it more dangerous. By denying that employees have feelings that drive them, we easily run foul with the worst of them – anger, fear, frustration and confusion.
It may seem a little like opening Pandora’s Box to start acknowledging and giving emotions their rightful place in our businesses. However, out of that same box came one of the most powerful gifts of all humanity – hope.
